Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need a special license to drive a Polaris Slingshot?
In New Jersey, you only need a valid standard driver’s license to operate a Polaris Slingshot. However, you must be at least 21 years old to rent from Dream Sling Rentals. We also require that you have a clean driving record for the past 3 years.
Is it safe to drive a Slingshot if I've never driven one before?
Yes, it’s safe for new drivers. The Polaris Slingshot handles similarly to a car but with the open-air feel of a motorcycle. We provide a thorough orientation before your rental, covering all safety features and driving tips. The vehicle also comes equipped with stability control and other safety features to ensure a secure ride.
What happens if it rains during my rental period?
The Polaris Slingshot is designed for use in various weather conditions. It has a windshield to protect you from the elements, but it is an open-air vehicle. If rain is forecasted and you prefer not to drive in wet conditions, we offer free rescheduling up to 48 hours before your rental time.
Can I take the Slingshot on highways or is it restricted to local roads?
You can absolutely take the Polaris Slingshot on highways! It’s street-legal and capable of highway speeds. However, we recommend that new Slingshot drivers get comfortable with the vehicle on local roads before hitting the highway. Also, please note that our rentals come with a mileage limit of 100 miles per day. Additional miles can be purchased if you’re planning a longer trip.
